The Conservatory of Central Illinois programs include individual lessons, small group instruction, the East Central Illinois Youth Orchestra, community outreach programs and certificate programs.

Individual lessons are currently available on violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, oboe, clarinet, percussion and guitar.

​

Group instrumental instruction is offered through the Suzuki-Rolland String Program for students playing violin and cello.

​

Group instruction for the younger child is offered through the Early Childhood Program for children between the ages of six months and six years.

​

The East Central Illinois Youth Orchestra has become a strong element and outlet for auditioned student performers to experience playing in a symphony orchestra. This ensemble rehearses and performs regularly, developing student skills in music reading, ensemble performance, and overall musicianship. Participation is intended to compliment other ensemble activities in which students might be involved.

Community Outreach Programs and collaborative programming have been offered in conjunction with the Champaign Park District, area day care centers, and in area elementary schools. Students and faculty at The Conservatory frequently provide music for programs at local service clubs, area senior citizens, and community events. Conservatory staff and faculty also provide mentoring for students considering careers in music.

A music certificate program exists to offer an incentive for students to become involved in musical activities beyond the weekly lesson. Attendance at concerts, special school and scout projects, reports of PBS special programming, participation in church music groups, and competitions are among the items included in the certificate program.
