Suzuki-Rolland Program
The Suzuki-Rolland String Program at The Conservatory of Central Illinois serves students from preschool through high school. Utilizing the "mother tongue" approach of Sinichi Suzuki, students learn to play easily in groups and by memory. Weekly group classes augment the private lesson and provide additional opportunities for the learning of music theory and reading. The students get ensemble experience as well as the chance to perform with a professional accompanist in a relaxed atmosphere.

This program had its beginning while program coordinator Frances Reedy served under the direction of Paul Rolland at the National Academy of the Arts. Rolland's highly acclaimed focus on the physical approach to the string instrument has greatly influenced the development of the program.
