The mission of the Conservatory of Central Illinois is to provide opportunities for quality music eduction and experiences in East Central Illinois. We promote a lifelong appreciation of and interest in music in the community, wecoming everyone regardless of ability, age, race, ethnic origin, religion, or financial circumstances. Serving as a resource for music education. The Conservatory is the only not-for-profit community music school in downstate Illinois.

Registration fees for 2008-2009 will be raised from $35. Those students who pay the FULL tuition payment for the fall semester by August 31 may register at a fee of $30

PLAYATHON 2008

Over $6,000 was raised at this year's PLAYATHON through the efforts of our students, parents, faculty, and board members of The Conservatory and the generosity of local businesses.

Sincere thanks to the 30 + Conservatory parents, students, and friends who volunteered their time and talents to the running of the PLAYATHON 2008.

GARAGE SALE!!!

On Sept. 20, we will join forces with Altrusa, Int. to hold a Garage Sale Fundraiser in our additional space on the first level of the building (formerly the Music Shoppe).

Volunteers are needd for planning, site preparation, and help on September 20!

Help is needed selling Schwann's Ice Cream at the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival on Saturday, August 23

The Schwann's Ice Cream booth that The Conservatory runs at the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival is an important pubic fundraiser for the year with proceeds going to the Conservatory special activities financial aid programs.

We staff the Schwann's Ice Cream Tent from 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. in 2 hour shifts. Please call the Conservatory office at 356-9812 if you can help!

ECIYO Auditions

The East Central Illinois Youth Orchestra program is organized by The Conservatory of Central Illinois to provide the highest quality orchestral experience to young musicians. Entrance into the program is by audition and is open to all area instrumental students through high school. Acceptance and placement are based on musical experience and ability.

Auditions for the 2008-2009 year will be held on Aug. 23, 24, 30, and Sept. 6. Call 356-9812 for information.
