The Conservatory of Central Illinois is a not-for-profit community music school organized to provide opportunities for quality music education and experience in East Central Illinois without regard to personal circumstance. The Conservatory promotes a lifelong appreciation of music and serves as a resource for music education in the community. The Conservatory is the only fully certified member of the National Guild of Community Schools of the Arts in downstate Illinois.

Each year the Conservatory

• Awards financial aid to students who would otherwise have difficulty meeting the cost of appropriate music instruction.
• Presents numerous free concerts open to the public.
• Participates in a number of community events.
• Maintains an outreach program which brings music into retirement centers, schools, and other pubic venues.
